Who is Eco Voyager?
Eco Voyager has specialized exclusively in creating
private original programs for travelers interested
in experiencing the cultural, ecological and archaeological
treasures of Latin America for over 10 years.
With offices in the U.S., Venezuela, and Ecuador,
Eco Voyager offers a wide variety of travel options
and the personalized service that travelers expect.
Eco Voyager has been featured in a number of articles
and news programs, including People Magazine and
Extra! for its commitment to combining high quality
travel experiences with environmental conservation.
Eco Voyager adheres strictly to the guidelines
for sustainable ecotourism. Private departures
led by naturalist guides are just the beginning...
What are the accommodations like?
In major cities, you'll stay in first-class, centrally
located hotels. In the natural regions you visit,
the lodges are comfortable, offer private rooms
with bath, and are harmonious to their environment.
How is the food on the trips?
The meals reflect the local cuisine of the specific
region you are visiting and include fresh vegetables
and tropical fruits, seafood, meats, rice, beans
and breads. Fresh fruit juices, bottled spring
water, soft drinks and in some cases, beer, wine
and other alcoholic beverages are offered. Most
meals are prepared at the lodges where you'll
be staying; depending on the excursion, lunches
are in select restaurants or a picnic lunch will
be provided. Vegetarian and other special meals
can be arranged upon request.
How do you travel within Latin America?
Eco Voyager uses private, air-conditioned vehicles
which are used for airport transfers and for excursions.
Regularly scheduled domestic flights and private
flights are the most common mode of travel between
the regions. Domestic flights are generally under
one hour in duration except for major countries
such as Brazil, Chile or Argentina. In the remote
regions, walking and hiking, small boats and jeeps
are the methods of transportation. Overall, you'll
find that since most countries are relatively
small, you won't spend a lot of time traveling
from one region to another.
Who are Eco Voyager's travelers?
Eco Voyager's clients are sophisticated, active
travelers who appreciate personalized service,
have an interest in discovering rich natural and
cultural environments, and are looking for a unique
travel experience. Eco Voyager works with its
clients to make sure that the trip they choose
will be the right experience for them.
Who leads Eco Voyager's trips?
Eco Voyager's bilingual guides are among the top
naturalists in Latin America, and have many years
of experience. Active in local conservation efforts,
they help to educate their local communities on
the importance of environmental preservation.
Their genuine hospitality and understanding of
the local nature and culture will add an immeasurable
component to your experience.
Can I customize an Eco Voyager trip?
Since most of our programs have been designed
as private departures, they can be easily customized
to meet your needs. Just contact Eco Voyager's
travel specialists and they will assist you in
developing the trip of your dreams at no additional
cost. Please remember that in some instances we
may not be able to accommodate all your requests
due to the specific nature of some events such
as local markets, cruise and train departures,
etc.
What about group travel?
Eco Voyager has organized special trips for student
groups, environmental groups, zoos, museums, film
projects and family reunions. Contact Eco Voyager's
group department and you'll receive personalized
service, special rates and customized material.
Group sizes range from 6 to 20 participants.
How difficult are the excursions on your
trips?
Eco Voyager's Favorites and Romantic Adventure
Collections have been designed as soft-adventures,
meaning that anyone in good physical condition
can participate. Excursions may include walks
and hikes ranging from 1-3 hours in length with
frequent stops. Various terrains may be encountered,
including hills and jungle paths, and some excursions
are at higher elevations. The Family Adventures
include fun activities ideal for the whole family.
If you have specific questions about any excursion,
please call one of our experienced travel specialists
at 1-800-326-7088.
Do I need any special visas to travel
in Latin America?
U.S citizens need a visa when traveling to Brazil.
Visas are normally granted within 48 hours and
have a fee of approximately $100.00. For detailed
information, please check with your closest Brazilian
consulate or contact the Brazil Embassy in Washington,
DC at 202-238-2837 or in their website www.braziltourism.org.
For all other countries, if you are a U.S., Canadian
or EC citizen, a valid passport is all you need
to travel in Latin America. You will receive a
visitor's pass on your international flight.
Have your U.S. travel specialists been
to Latin America?
All staff members in our U.S. office have traveled
extensively throughout Latin America on Eco Voyager's
trips. Their first hand experience, training and
knowledge make them uniquely qualified to answer
all your questions.
How do I reserve space on a trip?
Since we feature unique accommodations in our
programs, you should try to reserve as early as
possible in order to guarantee availability on
your ideal travel dates. You can place a free
courtesy hold on space for three days while you
decide or you can reserve your trip with a $500
per person deposit (additional $250 for Galapagos
cruises). For your convenience, Eco Voyager accepts
Visa, MasterCard and American Express. To inquire

Voyager's travel specialists from 9am to 6pm (EST)
